When we did what we had to do
It was a good victory on Saturday against Workington even if it wasn't always pretty to watch.
A win is a win at the end of the day and sometimes you just have to grind the victories out.
Saturday was one of those occasions but we did what we had to do.
Workington made life difficult for us but you just have to match them and stand up to them and then when you get a chance you have to take it.
That's exactly what we did with Shelds popping up for the winner late on after good work from Wrighty.
Tuesday night was very different. The result was the same but the performance was excellent I thought.
We passed the ball around better than we have done for a while and could have been three up at the break.
In the end we won 1-0 but it was a solid victory and could have been more.
It was great to see Bradley Pritchard net the winner.
He was obviously dropped for the Workington game and there are two ways you can react.
You can sit and sulk about the situation or you can respond positively.
Bradders is always one of those who was going to respond in the right way. By his own admission he hasn't been on the top of his game.
But this was a good fillip for him and I thought he had a good game.
He certainly had a proper warm up for the game.
We had a meeting point to get to for the coach ahead of the match on Tuesday night.
We all arrived and then had to wait for Bradders. He eventually turned up, sweating, big Umbro bag on his back, riding a bicycle.
He'd ridden his bike ten miles from Loughborough University because apparently his exhaust had gone on his car.
Personally, I think he has taken the credit crunch to the extreme though and was saving the pennies. He's tight at the best of times!
We now face another tough week with a trip to Solihull and then the big game at home to Southport on Tuesday night.
The key is to forget Southport because, and I know it's a cliche, you have to take it one game at a time.
We don't want to be going into the Tuesday game on the back of a defeat because we haven't focused properly.
Solihull is a local derby and they'll be up for it but we know we have enough about us to go there and get the win.
These are exciting times and it's incredibly tight at the top with the likes of Gateshead, Telford and Southport all winning matches.
It's going to go right down to the wire, that's for certain and it's fantastic that we are involved in what is going to be a really fascinating title run-in.
