It's time to stand up and be counted

WE head down to Cambridge United this weekend for the start of another busy week and the aim is to turn things around after a bad 10 days or so.

It's hard to put your finger on why results haven't been so good since we drew at Wrexham.

We gave away a few sloppy goals in the defeat against Mansfield and have done the same in the matches since.

That's something we need to work on and get back to doing what we did well for the ten games before.

Football is a confidence game as well.

When you are winning games, confidence is high but it can soon dip.

Every single one of us has to look at ourselves as individuals now and just think, 'could I be doing my job any differently at the moment.'

And most importantly, I think it's time for us all to stand up and be counted.

We have to work hard in training and we have to want to get on the ball and play the way we can.

We have shown the character to bounce back from disappointment before and I have no doubt that we can again.

The disappointment of the FA Trophy has to be put firmly behind us now and we have to focus on the league and getting the points on board to secure our safety.

Cambridge away, followed by Gateshead at home, are the next tests for us and we have to be ready for the challenge.

Cambridge are a big club with a nice ground and a good pitch.

They like to play football and so do we and it's the kind of game I am confident we can go and get a result.

We have proved we can go to places like Oxford and Stevenage and perform and if we go to the Abbey Stadium in determined mood, I'm sure we can travel home happy.
