A tough Easter but it's still in our own hands

IT'S been a tough week for us with one point out of six but the main thing is the title is very much still in our own hands.

You wouldn't swap our position with any of the other teams in the top six at the end of the day.

We now have to go and win it in our last three games and we're in a positive mood that we can do just that.

Monday was a bizarre game after the frustration of losing to Stafford at the weekend.

I guess the thing that people will be talking about most of all is the miss by their lad Gary Hay in the dying seconds.

If someone had a camcorder that would have been a moment for the What happened next? round on a Question of Sport.

I have never seen a comedy of errors like it and certainly not seen a miss like that in a game I have been involved in.

To be fair to the lad, I think the pitch had a say in it. For him to fire over from inside the six-yard box, there must have been a bobble.

It could well be a moment which we look back on at the end of the season as a major, significant event – especially if we win the title by a point.

It would have been hard on us had we lost though on Monday, given the way we fought back in the game.

They scored an absolutely cracking first goal but it was avoidable from our point of view had we not given away possession cheaply.

It was a hard pitch for us to play on, you couldn't get the ball down and play.

But we battled on and Taity (Richard Tait) popped up with a goal on his debut.

I thought he had a good debut to be fair. He's been patient since joining and was rewarded with a start at Redditch and he did well.

After the goal, we could maybe have gone on and won it and Stuart Nicholson had a decent chance but a draw was what we ended up with and fortunately other results went our way.

We now have two massive home games against Vauxhall and Hinckley coming up and hopefully there will be a great atmosphere for them.

I thought the fans at Redditch were excellent again – they really got behind us.

More of the same would be great against Vauxhall this weekend.
