QPR's threat was bigger than ever

WELL the run has come to an end but for Blues it is just a case now of getting a new one started.

For the lads this week it was just a case of wrong place, wrong time when they travelled down to QPR.

The London side had just got rid of their manager and as everyone knows that seems to be a recipe for quick-fire success.

Teams normally do well in the couple of games after a manager goes and for Blues it was unlucky as that meant against them.

They played QPR a few weeks ago and were well worth the win then and on Tuesday night it just was not to be.

The home side went down to ten men as well but even that could not help Blues.

It was a shame they could not pick up a few points, especially after such a good win on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday are not an easy team to play and can be very good at times.

Blues were good, though and it was nice to see Gary O'Connor getting among the goals again.

When I went down to watch the lads play versus Crystal Palace the week before he looked a real threat and deserved to get a goal when he hit the post.

It look's like he has carried that form forwards and as a striker that can only be good as it means you are confident going into games.

One striker who will be confident in the next game coming up for Blues will be Clinton Morrison.

He plays for Coventry now and when he comes up against his old side he will be dying to get a goal.

That always seems to happen and Blues will have to be very much on their guard to stop him.

The game against Coventry on Monday night will be a huge one, although, not as big as Blues Villa of course.

As a local derby all form goes out of the window and I am looking forward to going down there to watch to be honest.

Coventry are not having the best of time in the league to be honest, but then again they have not spent big so cannot expect to.

This division is so competitive and you cannot expect to get out of it unless you spend.

There are at the moment around 12 teams who could win this league and Coventry are lagging behind a bit.

They have got a lovely big stadium but do not seem in a hurry to reinvest the money into the playing squad.

As I said, though, that all goes out of the window when you take on a local rival.
