Baggies to bounce back at Fulham
After going to Tenerife for a few days to do some warm weather training, the Baggies squad will be well rested for the game and that should work in our favour.
The guys will have been away and done some training, but they also will have done some bonding and hopefully come together as a team a bit more.
That is what Tony Mowbray will have wanted as he will need his squad to all be pulling in the right direction to get us out of the trouble we are in.
After our last result against Newcastle in the league it will have done the side a lot of good to just get away and not think about what is going on back home.
That defeat really did put us in a bit of trouble as it realistically means that we now need four points from our next three games to stand a chance of getting out of this.
And with Arsenal and Everton part of those next three games you can see why a win at Fulham on Sunday is so important.
If would not be so bad if we could guarantee that the other sides around us in the league would go three or four games without a win.
But with the league being the way it is this season that just does not seem to happen.
Instead teams go on little runs here and there and get points where you would not expect them to.
That is why there are so many teams in trouble and the league is so tight.
We know the teams around us will be picking up points in the next few games so we need to do the same.
It will not be easy against Fulham, though, as despite having two games since we last played they are a good team.
They also have a big squad and in my opinion can handle the amount of games well.
You only have to look at the fact that Eric Nevland was brought in the other day to realise that.
He is a great player and has not played for a while.
But then he comes in and does a great job and looks like he has been playing for a long time.
That is the difference between us and some other clubs sometimes.
Whereas we may be missing Jay Simpson this week and missing him badly, Fulham can bring in like for like if needs be.
They have spent big money over the last two years to be able to do that and that is what needs to be done.
We have Simpson out and have nobody in the squad quite like him.
That will be a problem as I believe that to counter that Mowbray may resort to playing only one up front.
That could be a mistake as Fulham is a tough game but nonetheless a winnable one.
A game that we should go for them in and not rely on playing one up top and nicking something late on.
