Management can turn us round – but who will be there to watch?

ANOTHER loss after leading by two goals at home is a disappointment somewhat muted by the fact that no-one is looking over their shoulders or worried about relegation.

Teams who do drop home leads on a regular basis are rarely in the push for the play-off places either so we sadly don't have to worry in that regard.

At this time of the season, switching on the radio on a Saturday afternoon means being regaled with stories of joy and despair as teams leave their present division in both directions.

One high point this weekend was the news of the continuing rise of AFC Wimbledon.

I was hoping by now that they would be passing by the abomination that is MK Dons.

However, the Bucks outfit seem to be a team on the up, and it's very irritating.

Having said that, it is difficult not to have a grudging admiration in the way that they have embedded themselves into the heart of their community and seem to be reaping the benefits.

Certainly their place will be rocking this Saturday.

Bescot in comparison has a very flat atmosphere at the moment.

A visit to Bescot used to be a highlight in my week.

Now, however, it's like hoping to go out on the tiles and finding out you are in some social club where everything stops for the bingo much to the chagrin of the clapped out, neverwas DJ.

Jazzy Jeff may have to accept that next season crowds will be returning to the kind of levels that we haven't seen since the Hibbitt days.

The knock-on effects in terms of revenue available for the playing side is obvious.

It's going to take a stroke of genius from the team management to be able to break this cycle.

I wish them the best of luck. But I can't help but wonder how many are going to be there to see it.
