Mixed week for Wood
Dudley Town 3
Walsall Wood 2
WOOD were dumped out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle following a poor performance away at West Midlands Premier side Dudley Town on Saturday.
They opened the scoring against the run of play as Huseyin Torgut picked the ball up in midfield and smashed a left foot drive from 25 yards that found the top corner.
But Dudley levelled on 42 minutes when a combination of errors led to a Town striker poking home.
It got little better for Wood after the break as a long punt over the top was left by both Roberts and Reeves, allowing the Dudley striker to round the keeper with ease and slot into the empty net.
Wood levelled when substitute Walsh crafted a through ball to find an excellent run by Ahmet Bilgimer, who coolly slotted past the oncoming keeper.
With a replay looking likely, there was late drama for Wood as Bilgimer was sent off for handling on the line and the hosts dispatched the penalty to progress into the next round.

WOOD bounced back from the disappointment of Saturday's FA Cup defeat with a home win against Heath Hayes on Tuesday night.
Wood claimed the only goal of the game when Cooper neatly played the ball into Harris, who took it into his stride and crashed it home.
