Pics slump to second successive loss on the road
Glapwell 2
Rushall Olympic 0
RUSHALL Olympic stumbled to their second away defeat in the space of four days after conceding two sloppy second-half goals at promotion play-off hopefuls Glapwell , writes Darren Stockall.
Despite the final score-line, the visitors should have gone into the interval in the lead.
Mark Lowe surged past his marker into the right side of the box on 15 minutes, but could only roll the ball wide of the left-hand upright with the goal at his mercy.
Glapwell took the initiative just four minutes into the second period, when a ball played inside by Adam Kimberley picked out the run of Ian Brown.
Despite the intervention of Olympic skipper Niki Preston, the home striker held his nerve to rifle home inside the near post of goalkeeper Chris Gemmell.
The Pics had the ball in the back of the net on 67 minutes, but substitute Damien Charie was offside.
Rushall's fate was sealed 12 minutes from full-time, when defender Tom Starkey stumbled and relinquished possession under pressure from veteran substitute Neil Grayson, who drilled the ball confidently inside Gemmell's right hand post.
