Wolverhampton Danes (180) drew with Rushall First XI – abandoned

They bowled first and dismissed Danes for 180 but could only watch as the heavens opened and the match had to be abandoned.

Staffs Clubs League Division 3A

Cannock (65) lost to Rushall Second XI (66-1) by nine wickets

RUSHALL seconds maintained their promotion push with another comfortable victory, this time over Cannock.

Cannock were soon in trouble at 20-4 and it could have been worse if Rushall had not dropped several catches.

Stevenson (22) then tried to steady the Cannock innings, but when he was bowled by Alan Dunn (4-20), they collapsed to 65 all out.

Dunn also enjoyed a run out with a direct hit from fine leg. He received excellent support from Andy Callaghan (3-4), who wrapped up the tail with his left-arm boomerangs.

Even though Rushall lost their first wicket to the second ball of their innings, their only danger came from the weather.

But Neil Phillips (21no) and skipper Aftab Nawaz (34no) quickly knocked off the required runs in just 11 overs.

Staffs Clubs League Division Five

Coseley CC (45) lost to Rushall CC Third XI (46-1) by nine wickets

RUSHALL thirds maintained their promotion push with a complete demolition of Coseley.

Coseley were quickly in trouble as Matt Wilkinson (4-9) made early inroads into their batting line-up.

He was supported by Rick Cooke (3-7) and Darrel Starns (1-0) as they were bowled out for just 45.

Rushall set about Coseley quickly with veteran opener Daz Stacey (29no) leading the charge.

He had good support from Wilkinson (15) as they passed the modest target in just 6.3 overs.
