Willenhall Town 1

DESPITE finding the net for the first time in 650 minutes, Willenhall Town slumped to another heavy defeat at Market Drayton on Tuesday night.

The visitors should have scored first when Dwayne Robinson's cross found Jamall Pinnock, but the striker failed to connect with the ball.

Drayton made them pay and took the lead on eight minutes as a corner from the right saw Paul McMullen rise highest to head in from close range.

The home side doubled their lead two minutes later as Darren Beech's miss-hit cross deceived keeper Matt Jones and went straight in over his head.

On 38 minutes James Haynes converted a penalty and the home side added two more goals before the break.

First, a good cross from David Howells was slid home by Tom Rogers before Matt Whitehouse scored an own goal.

The second half was a much closer affair and it took Drayton until the 83rd minute to add their sixth goal as David Howarth lashed the ball into the top left corner.

The seventh goal came when a cross found an unmarked Martin Davies who scored from close range.

Willenhall's consolation came in stoppage time when a cross evaded the defender and Carlton Rose finished smartly.
