A crazy Guiseley game
When the gaffer spoke to us in the changing room prior to the game, he told us how vital it was to get the win.
We knew what to expect from Guiseley and it was tough, especially playing against the wind in the first half.
We defended well in general but gave a silly goal away, which has been happening all season.
But then Ross Dyer got us level and we were confident playing with the wind after the break.
I thought we passed the ball around really well, created opportunities and then luckily got the penalty – and fair play to Ross for sticking it away.
He had to wait five or ten minutes to take it because there were big protests and a lot of controversy around the decision.
Then of course we conceded a penalty at the other end but Stuart Brock did brilliantly to save it and that could be a real turning point for us.
It was amazing that both their keepers were sent off and the referee was a bit of a wildcard at times, brandishing cards when there was no need to.
But we've had those type of decisions go against us before and there were three consecutive games when we had a player sent off so maybe the luck has turned in our favour.
We go into the double header against Whitby (away last night and at home on Saturday) confident we can still make the play-offs.
We have come off a few bad results and now we are getting a good run going so confidence is high.
It is definitely the right time to hit form as we head towards the run-in.
Most of the teams we have left to play are in the bottom half of the table and if we keep winning games it will give us the momentum we need.
