Another week – another loss

Thursday, March 05, 2009, 08:00

WELL it has been another less than brilliant week for the club on the pitch then.

We lost away at Bradford and then followed that up by losing away at North Ferriby on Tuesday night.

I do not know what feels worse as well, the fact that we are losing, or the fact that we are doing so to teams who we are fighting for a play-off spot with.

It is so annoying at the moment as the run of defeats has come in a season where we did not look like losing at some points.

We were in control of our own situation and teams just could not handle us.

Now that is all changed and we are struggling to turn teams over at the moment.

That is a worry – especially as we have not been playing that badly in the games we have been losing.

Take this week for example.

We lost at Bradford and Ferriby but did we deserve to?

We were in control for large parts of both, but as is the case with us a lot at the moment, we let in silly goals and they cost us.

We need to cut that out, but we also need to start banging them in at the other end at the same time.

It is difficult to do that when you are in the run we are in, though, as everyone's confidence is inevitably on the deck.

We are good players still, though, and it is up to us to turn things round.

One player who has not been able to help recently is Stuart Brock who is over in America at the moment.

Stuart is having a trial with a club out there and we wish him all the best.

He has had a good career over here and has helped us so much this season.

But if a guy gets a chance to end his career in the sunshine of America then we cannot really knock him.

He deserves it and we deserve a win this weekend against Ossett.

They are struggling a bit at the moment down the wrong end of the table and that is good for us to be honest.

We need these kind of games at the moment to try and turn our season around.

We have a big chance against Ossett on Saturday and then Willenhall on Tuesday.

Willenhall is a game that we want to win of course, but if I had the choice of course a victory over Ossett takes priority every time.
