Fancy a flutter?

Bill Esdaile has written for the Racing Post, Sportsman, Sporting Life and the Smart Gambler. He had a weekly column in the Daily Telegraph during the World Cup and has previewed major betting events for the financial Times, Shares Magazine and the Business.

AFTER going 1-0 up in the third minute at St Mary's last weekend, few thought the Saddlers would be 5-1 down on 90 minutes.

While it wasn't a pleasant day for the fan in us, the inner punter was pleased – we backed a Saints win at 4/6 on Betdaq and bought (bet higher) goals at 2.7 with Sporting Index.

Chris Hutchings must quickly get over that hammering as his side play Millwall at the Banks's this Saturday.

The Saddlers have not performed great here of late with only one win in their last five and will rightly fear the Lions' recent away record of three wins from four games.

Furthermore, the Saddlers have lost their last three league meetings with Millwall, including last year's fixture here.

However, the sides' season record suggests a draw is most likely. Walsall have drawn seven at home this campaign, including last month against Bristol Rovers and Charlton, teams both above them in the table.

Similarly, the Lions have tied six times on the road so far. The draw looks good value at 23/10 with Boylesports, so I will be backing the match to finish level.

Prior to beating MK Dons 3-1 nine days ago, Millwall scored just three goals in five away matches, so I also suggest selling goals at 2.5 with Sporting Index.
