Positional poser does not worry versatile Walsall man Taundry
Taundry has been employed as a full back, central midfielder and wide man by current boss Chris Hutchings and previous managers Jimmy Mullen and Richard Money.
And while he embraces his own versatility, Taundry hopes it does not get in the way of establishing himself as a regular this season.
The 20-year-old shone on the right wing against Wolves on Tuesday night, creating a number of openings and producing a lively first half display before being rested after the break.
But the friendly also showed that Walsall need more bite in central midfield and many believe the energetic and hard-working Taundry could be the ideal player to provide it.
He said: "At the minute I'm happy to be playing but I'm not really sure what my favourite position is.
"I've not really had a long run in a constant position so I'm just trying to find out which one it actually is.
"I feel comfortable wherever I play so I'm not too fussed but I'd like to secure a position.
"I enjoyed it on the right against Wolves and got into it early on, all in all it was pretty good.
"Personally I felt fit and was raring to go and as a team we all came together as the game went on."
Taundry believes Walsall have plenty to look forward to after a promising start to pre-season and has welcomed recent arrivals Mark Hughes, Steve Jones, Josh O'Keefe and Sam Parkin.
He added: "We've had two and a half or three weeks now and it's gone really well.
"From what we had three or four weeks ago to what we have now is amazing – we've got a good bunch of lads who will all pull together."
And the youngster is refusing to set any targets for what he and the club know will be a tough League One season ahead with a number of big sides in the division.
He added: "To be honest we've got a tough start to the season so five to ten games in we should have a rough idea of where we want to finish."
Richard Taundry has been used in a variety of positions by the Saddlers but the youngster is looking to make one spot his own this season.
